Oh, Krap

Thanks to Shannon at work I now have a new hobby. Well, to be fair, I guess it really is a variation on a relatively newer hobby...knitting. She introduced me to the Knifty Knitter. Have you seen this? Deb, you might want to pay attention. This is the easiest way to knit EVER!

Go to your local Craft Warehouse and for $10-$20 you can get a set of 4 round looms. They look like this:

Each loom is basically a round circle with pegs on it. You are wrapping the yarn on preset pegs and then use a little tool to flip the yarn over to make a stitch. The little tool comes in the kit even. The directions are easy to follow (so far) and I got myself a book to learn more stitches.

I made a little baby hat with it last night....in less than an hour! It is so easy. I took a picture of the hat, but I left my camera downstairs and I want to get to doing some more "knitting", so I'll have to load it later. In the meantime, go to your local craft store and get yourself one! It's fun and easy. There is also a long oval set, but I haven't gone down that path yet.

I learned to knit at our last scrapbooking weekend and haven't managed to finish a single thing yet, although I've started a lot of hats and scarves. I got my looms yesterday and I've already finished a hat! I feel so successfull.

This concludes the (unpaid) advertisement for Knifty Knitters. Is that name just too, too cute or what? I am now off to work on my next hat. Stay tuned for a picture of the baby hat!

Post a picture! I'd love to see it. Hey, maybe I can use my next Joann's coupon on one of those.
