Wow. Big excitement in the ole Vancouver area today. We had a tornado touch down. The news stations are beside themselves with glee. There is nothing Portland newscasters love more than bad weather. A couple of trees were uprooted, a roof or two blew off and a building was "devestated" on Vancouver Lake, but you'd think the whole city was in shambles from the way they talked incessantly about it on the news (which was extended to an hour and a half in order for EVERYONE and their dog & cat to be interviewed and tell their horrific story about escaping the HORRIBLE TORNADO!).
So it was really not much of a big deal. Just to give you out of town readers a perspective on how close we were to total anhailation, here is a map of where I live in relation to where the tornado hit.

Not too close. The National Weather Service thinks this is about a 0 to a 1 on the F-scale. I don't think this area will be forever known as the next tornado alley. Still, it does give me a blog topic.
We did get a really good storm that included heavy rain and tons of hail that lasted about five minutes. Will the excitement never end?

yeah, the news people are like that here as well. a 1/2 inch rainstorm is called, "Storm WATCH." It's quite funny.
How about some cruise pictures, yo?
