Wonderful Fall Day

We had a wonderful fall day today. It was in the upper 60s, blue sky, light breeze, warm sunshine. I slept in then read kinda late into the morning, which was wonderful. We decided to take the dogs to the park and before we left I was looking at Atlas Quest and found that there were some new boxes planted at the CASEE (Center for Agriculture, Science and Environmental Education) Center. We've driven by there 10,000 times on the way to the dog park. I've always wanted to stop in here and look at it, but we've never taken the time.

Deciding we'd take the dogs to the park AND go letterboxing, we stopped at the center. We had a great time walking around here. We were the only people there so we let the dogs off leash to run around the trails. They simply ADORE going leashless in the woods. They were running around with big happy smiles on their faces. I'm sure they were eating all kinds of disgusting things, too, but hey, they were having a good time.

We found 4 letterboxes there, which was totally awesome, and spent a couple of hours just walking through the woods, around the wetlands, and in the community garden.

There are several different garden types there like a butterfly garden, a hummingbird garden and a bee garden.

Here are some pretty flowers from the Butterfly Garden.

These were in the Hummingbird garden. I have no idea what kind of flowers they are, but they sure were pretty!

Me and the girls by a funny little "scarecrow" made of a bucket and some piping.

Greg and the girls not wanting their picture taken. Notice Carmen hacking up something in the bottom left of the picture. Lovely.

Here's me stamping in at one of the boxes.

I loved this water pump with the pretty flowers. Greg took this picture.

Anyway, it was a wonderful day spent with my favorite people outside during my favorite time of year doing my favorite sport. What else could I ask for?
