I had My Friend Mandy,

My Friend Jenny,

and later, My Friend Becky.

I clearly remember getting my first My Friend Mandy doll for Christmas in 1977. I was so thrilled! I actually had two Mandy dolls (first issue with pink rosebuds on her body and the second issue with yellow rosebuds on her body). I think I called the second one Mindy.
My cousin Deb had a Mandy doll, too. I think I probably made her name it something else, because I was bossy and older. We had so much fun with those dolls. We probably played the equivalent of 5 years straight with them.
Of course, being that I was a spoiled only child, I had every outfit imaginable for those dolls. I remember going to Toys-R-Us and looking to see if any new ones had been released and being so excited when there was something new. My mom made me a ton more clothes for them, too.
Deb's daughter Samantha has them now. I hope she is enjoying them as much as her mother and I did when we were little girls. I wonder if anyone has a picture of us playing with those dolls? That would make an awesome scrapbook page.

I think I finally figured out how to do this.
Your Mom and I had Tiny Tears & Ginny dolls....
She was a spoiled only child too and she had all the clothes and accessories! She was bossy and older as well, you probably got it from her :) (Just kidding Lin, jussst kidding)
You two did have a lot of fun, and I am glad you are "sisters".
Did you remember that your second My Friend Mandy came from Papa the one time he visited us here in Oregon?
