A Day Off

After working a really, really long week, I took a much needed day off from both work and home chores on Saturday. It was a lovely spring day and somehow I convinced Greg to go to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn. We took the dogs, who got lots of attention, as always. The tulips were in beautiful color and there were about a zillion photographers out there take tulip pictures. I doubt if mine came out with any quality like the pros, but I enjoy them.

So here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

Here's my attempt to take a professsional shot:

Me and Carmen & Sophie in the flowers. It seemed to be the thing to do.

The guts of a tulip.

Rows and rows of mixed tulips - my favorites!

Greg & the girls.

They had lots of old fashioned tractors on display that were pretty neat.

I liked this one hearty flower that had poked its little face out.

Can you believe they have to tell you not to step on the flowers or to pick them? They did. And I saw people do both.

What could be cuter than a whippet in a shoe? Carmen didn't want to get in.

Sophie was more cooperative.

So that was our day off. It was really, really nice, let me tell you! Now, back to work. I've got two budget meetings this week. Lovely, lovely comp time!

pretty! I would love to go there. I remember it was open when I visited last time.
